Frequently Asked Questions
Products & Materials
The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is one of the world’s most widely recognised certifications for textiles. It means our fabric has been tested for over 300 harmful substances, including pesticides, heavy metals, and formaldehyde, and has met strict safety limits at every stage of production, from raw fibres to the finished product. It’s our guarantee that what touches your skin is safe and clean.
All LiTTLE MARiNER products are crafted from 100% organic cotton terry. Our towels are woven at 600 GSM for maximum softness and absorbency, while our clothing uses a lighter 300 GSM weight for comfortable all-day wear. Every piece is made using fabric certified to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, meaning the materials have been independently tested and verified to be free from harmful substances.
All our products are designed in London and ethically manufactured in Portugal. We partner with a dedicated supplier that shares our commitment to quality, fair working conditions, and responsible production.
Organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or genetically modified seeds. It uses significantly less water than conventional cotton farming and supports healthier soil and ecosystems. For you, it means softer fabric that’s gentler on your skin and kinder to the environment.
Our beach towels measure 90 × 170 cm (approximately 35 × 67 inches). This is a generous size that provides plenty of coverage for lying on at the beach or wrapping around your body after a bath.
Sizing & Fit
Our terry clothing is designed with a relaxed, slightly oversized fit for comfortable, easy wear. If you prefer a more fitted look, we recommend sizing down. For detailed measurements, please refer to our Size Guide page.
Organic cotton terry may shrink slightly (around 3–5%) after the first
wash. We recommend washing in cold or lukewarm water and air drying
to minimise shrinkage. Our size guide accounts for this, so we
suggest choosing your usual size.
We offer separate men’s and women’s cuts for our shirts and shorts. The men’s fit is slightly wider through the chest and shoulders, while the women’s fit is tailored with a slightly narrower shoulder and drawstring waist on shorts. Both are designed to be relaxed and comfortable.

Care & Maintenance
Wash in cold or lukewarm water (30–40°C) using a mild detergent. Avoid fabric softeners, they reduce the natural absorbency of terry cotton. Separate light and dark colours for the first few washes. For detailed care instructions specific to each product type, visit our Care Guide page.
We recommend line drying in the shade for the best results and longevity. If you prefer a tumble dryer, use a low heat setting for a short cycle. Over-drying can make terry fabric feel stiff, so removing items while still slightly damp and shaking them out will keep them soft and fluffy.
Occasionally a loop may come loose during washing. This is normal with terry fabric and doesn’t affect the towel’s quality. Simply trim the loop with scissors, do not pull it, as this could cause further unravelling.
